The art of stand up comedy is one of skill, talent and an unbelievable achievement in understanding the world around them. Having the opportunity to watch it all unfold through the lens makes it one of my favorite genres to photograph. As the roar of laughter fills the room and the comic takes a breath I look for those moments that capture the atmosphere of these magical experiences.
FESTIVAL and Promotional Work
Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the largest arts festival in the world. People come from all over to watch some of the best comedy, theatre, dance, drama, and so much more throughout the month of August. It is one of my favorite images to shoot as they usually are playful and creative.
This group of images is a behind the scenes look at the creation of a 6 part series called M.U.F.F. Written by Daniel Sloss and Tom Stade this production was filmed over 4 weeks completely self funded through talented friends, family and fans.
Throughout the Edinburgh Fringe Festival a short series of interviews was recorded with host Tom Stade. Each episode the venue changed to various sites around the festival. The images are a result of my time on set on Come Fringe Yourself 2014.
A portrait is a very personal expression that should capture your personal style and individuality. Our world today is highly dependent on the use of social media and it can be your first point of communication to many of your contacts. Perhaps a new job or maybe even just meeting a new business client for the first time and does your present image best represent you? A professional portrait no only looks fantastic across all your social media it can capture your unique individuality that sets you apart.
Working along side with The Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) this series of portraits was created to challenge the perception of what it means to live with sight loss. Using environmental portraiture to photographthe subjects they also shared their personal stories allowing the viewer further insight to their lives. There was an exhibition held at Summerhall in 2015.
In todays business world the use of imagery can bring to life products, events and presentations. With an observational style of photography capturing candid moments can add warmth and intamicy while also promoting your product or service.
